For over three decades, D&G has provided professional vehicle recovery, repair, and transport services, across Essex, Kent, London, rest of the UK, and Europe. Head Office is based at Recovery House in Upminster, Essex, with a second operations based in Medway, Kent. We combine the capabilities of a major operator with the personal service of a family-owned business.
"Big enough to cope, small enough to care."
Heritage
We built our reputation the hard way, call-out by call-out, in the all situations, including: motorways at 3am, all weather and situation conditions, live construction sites, and multi-vehicle incidents but to name a few. Our track record even earned us recognition as a previous South East Operator of the Year for the AA.
We hold industry requirements of; ISO 9001, PAS 43, and NHSS 17 & 17B certification, and our operators are IVR-qualified and recognised by our clients including, Highways England and Police Forces across the region. These continuing standards also let us work on live highways schemes and construction sites that some recovery operators are not cleared or certified for. We have membership of AVRO (the Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators) and other leading industry bodies.
Our client base spans clubs and private motorists needing a single breakdown recovered through to multinational fleets running hundreds of vehicles. In between, we support insurance providers, logistics and haulage operators, bus and coach fleets, construction firms working to NHSS site requirements, local authorities, and emergency services, including Essex Police, for whom we are an approved recovery operator.
Our workshops in Upminster, Essex, just a few minutes from the M25/J29, handles everything from cars and vans to light commercial vehicles to 44+ tonne HGVs, with manufacturer-level diagnostics and the recovery equipment to match. Rotator recovery, low-loaders, air cushions, and specialist for tankers, buses, coaches, and plant machinery. Beyond the UK, we run our own European transport network, so vehicle, plant and equipment movements across the continent are handled directly by our own in-house teams.
Recognised for service excellence across a large region of England.
Worked with officers and forensic teams and recovered the bus at Tavistock Square in the aftermath of the 2005 attacks, work that earned D&G an award under such sad circumstances.
Historically covered recovery operations across the whole of London for Met Police.
20+ years of recovery contract work on one of the busiest crossings in London.
Recovery operations on the Dartford-Thurrock river crossing.
On-track F1 recovery at Silverstone, plus circuit recovery work at Brands Hatch.
Formula E — on-track recovery support
Ambulance Incident — emergency response recovery
Plant Recovery — heavy plant and machinery movements
We are fleet owners ourselves, so we understand safety, and what vehicle downtime means to your operation. Our 24/7/365 manned Central Control ensures a real person is always available to coordinate your recovery, provide updates, and deliver a professional service.
Our expertise extends beyond UK borders with multiple weekly international vehicle movements throughout Europe, coordinated by an experienced office team and drivers who understand cross-border regulations and logistics.
Heavy Recovery
Transparency, honesty, and professionalism guide everything we do. Whether you need emergency recovery at 1am, routine workshop services, including fleets, construction site, contraflow conditions or complex international transport operations, we deliver the same high standards that have built our reputation over three decades.
